It's one of the cheepest places to live(in america), rent-wise, I'm not sure about the food but I think it's about the same as the rest of the country. Of course it snows and gets cold in the winter, but what I'd be most worried about is the daylight. during the winter, they get between 4 and 6 hours of sunlight/ day and in the summer it's the exact opposite, about 4-6 hours of darkness per day.

Rent is cheap. Food is very expensive.

Um my guess is the other two just looked up info. cuz its not cheap here at all. an average 3 bedroom can run bout 1200 a month. not including utilities. if your heat is based on electric be ready to pay 200 plus, if by oil, a full tank will cost you bout 1200 and more and will heat for maybe 2-3 months produce IS expensive. Milk is over 4 a gallon. Gas finally dropped to $2.80 down from almost $5 a gallon. and NO it does not snow here all the time. depends on what part you are talking about to. Northern AK already has alot of snow, but down here in Juneau (the capitol) it snowed and then rained. Theres tons of activities if you are the outdoors type. But if your looking to vacation, do it in the summer. much more to see and do.
